What comes around goes around…

So the GOP celebrated the Supreme Court ruling that allowed the civil case between Paula Jones and Bill Clinton to proceed even though he was serving as President at the time. It now seems as though that precedence will be used to allow the case between Valerie Plame and Dick Cheney et al., to proceed as well.

In 1997, the U.S. Supreme Court said in a unanimous ruling that neither
Clinton “or any other official has an immunity that extends beyond the scope of
any action taken in an official capacity.”

In order to be dismissed from the case or avoid testifying, Cotchett said, lawyers for Cheney and the other men would have to argue that they were acting on government business if they are found to have leaked Plame’s name to the media.

Oops!

John Aravosis at Americablog has an excellent review of this situation. The full story can be seen here.

Dick Cheney hires Clinton attorney

Dick Cheney has hired the attorney that defended Bill Clinton during impeachment proceedings as part of his defense of the Valerie Plame civil suit.

While I think this suit will go on well beyond the two and half years remaining of this administration, it would appear as though there may be some traction in this thing.

Strange politics

Arianna Huffington, over at the Huffington Report exposes the administration for the frauds they truly are. Dick Chenney gave a speech on Wednesday where he said that the recent rejection of Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary this week actually makes the terriorists feel as though they are winning the war on terror because the election demonstrates American’s lack the fortitude to fight this war. EXCUSE ME!?!?

Earth to Captain Clueless — You are stripping Americans of personal belongings and their dignity in public view at every airport across the nation complete with armed military men walking the halls of airports and train stations and you think that the terrorists give a damn about an election from the tiny state of Connecticut?

Quote:
“It’s worth noting that the ranking Democrat on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee is none other than Joe Lieberman, whose belief in bipartisan comity has kept him from holding the White House’s feet to the fire. No wonder Karl Rove wanted to help him out, and Dick Cheney feels so concerned by his defeat.”

So, tell me again Dickey, who exactly has the most to lose by Joe Lieberman’s departure? You or the terriorists.
